Experience the timeless beauty of Sicily on this 7-day journey through the island's most celebrated cultural and natural treasures. From the historic streets of Palermo and the magnificent mosaics of Monreale to the medieval charm of Erice, the vineyards of Marsala, and the ancient Greek ruins of Agrigento, this tour showcases Sicily's rich heritage. Explore the stunning Baroque towns of Ragusa, Noto, and Syracuse before ending in the elegant seaside town of Taormina. The highlight of the tour is an excursion to Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano, offering spectacular volcanic landscapes and unforgettable views.
You'll arrive in Palermo and make your way to the hotel on your own. Once you're settled, head down for dinner at the hotel and get some rest before things get going.
After breakfast at the hotel, you're heading out to Monreale to check out the UNESCO-listed town and its Cathedral. Spend some time walking around the shops, then come back to Palermo for a walking tour through the Old Town where you'll see the Cathedral and other historic spots. The afternoon is yours to relax before dinner at the hotel.
Get an early breakfast, then travel to Erice, a medieval village sitting high on Monte San Giuliano. You'll walk through the narrow lanes in the morning, then head to Marsala for wine tasting and lunch at a local tavern. Later, the coach takes you to Agrigento where you'll see the Valley of the Temples UNESCO site with Greek monuments like the Temple of Concord and Temple of Hercules. Check into your hotel and have dinner.
Breakfast at your hotel comes first, then you're off to Ragusa. The historical center of Ibla has baroque palaces and churches worth seeing, including the San Giorgio gate, Giardini Iblei gardens, San Giuseppe church, and the Cathedral of San Giorgio. You'll also see the Church of the Souls in Purgatory and Cosentini Palace before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Start with hotel breakfast, then travel to Noto, a fishing town with notable Baroque architecture. The recently restored Cathedral of San Nicolò and town center are on your list. From there, you'll drive along the south coast to Syracuse on the southeastern tip. Explore Ortygia island with its baroque churches and medieval palaces, then continue to Taormina perched in the hills. Check into your central hotel and have dinner.
After breakfast at your hotel, you're heading to Mount Etna, Europe's largest active volcano. You'll see the landscape of ancient lava fields and black magma rock, and if weather allows, you can go up to around 1800 meters at the summit. Back in Taormina by afternoon, you'll have free time to walk around town and explore on your own.
Have your final breakfast before the tour ends. If you want to stay longer in Taormina, extra nights are available to book.
