Arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. It is advised to take a hotel and check in as early as possible and spend the evening in the city centre of Helsinki or take a rest.
On this day, set out for a guided Helsinki city tour, covering some of its most iconic landmarks. Visit the grand Helsinki Cathedral, admire the unique architecture of the Temppeliaukio Church (Rock Church), and stop by the famous Sibelius Monument, dedicated to Finland’s national composer. Stroll through the bustling Market Square, where you can soak in the local atmosphere and enjoy the charm of the city. The evening is free at leisure to explore Helsinki at your own pace.
Take a domestic flight to Rovaniemi, the gateway to Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus. Visit the enchanting Santa Claus Village, where you can meet Santa himself, send postcards from the Santa Claus Post Office, and even cross the magical Arctic Circle. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the festive charm of the village before settling in for an overnight stay in Rovaniemi.
Reindeer Sleigh Ride: Glide through snowy forests in a traditional wooden sled led by a reindeer, learn about local herding culture.
Husky Safari: Meet energetic sled dogs at a local kennel, get a safety and steering briefing, and drive or ride in a fast-paced husky-pulled sled through the Arctic wilderness
Your night begins with pickup from your accommodation in Rovaniemi. Step into a heated Ford Tourneo 4×4 van, built for safe travel to remote Aurora spots in warmth and comfort — even at –40°C. Your small group (max 8 guests) is welcomed by your certified, first-aid trained guide — also a professional photographer.
Throughout the night, our 24/7 Back Office Aurora Command Center monitors clouds, weather models & solar wind all night, and coordinates 150+ guides across 4 locations in 3 countries to reroute hunts instantly to the clearest skies. This unique network gives us unmatched ability to find clear skies, even when satellites and weather apps get it wrong. If conditions shift, we move too — sometimes across borders — until the Aurora appears.
When the Northern Lights dance above, you’ll stand beneath the Arctic sky while your guide captures professional DSLR photos of your experience. Thermal clothing, hot drinks, and light snacks are provided to keep you safe and comfortable, even in –40°C.
Most other tours last 3–4 hours. We stay out until success — because for us, it’s not about the time, it’s about the Aurora.
Visit the Ranua Wildlife Park, where one can find Arctic animals such as polar bears and wolves. Return to Helsinki for your last night in the country.
This leads to the airport of Helsinki-Vantaa, where you will have to proceed for the next destination as per your itinerary.
